In order that you and your dog can enjoy the custom-made isartau, it is important to measure the size correctly. We have created measuring instructions for our collars. Please take a close look at these instructions and measure exactly the way.
Please DO NOT measure in this way under any circumstances, as the collar will become too large. The measurements of circumference and length differ and there will be deviations.
Variant 1 "Measure directly on the dog"
The neck circumference (blue) is decisive for the firm neck. It is best to let your dog sit down. Please use a flexible tape measure, so you will get the most accurate measurement. Then you measure at the place where the collar should sit later. We do not admit a buffer. If you order a fixed collar, e.g. for the measurement 46 cm, you will receive the collar in exactly this size.
Variant 2 "Measure directly on the collar"
If you have a well-fitting collar, this is the safest option. Since you measure the inner circumference, it does not matter if it is a leather, Biothane or rope collar.
1. close the collar first in the appropriate size and put it on the table in front of you.
2. measure the inner circumference of the collar with a tape measure. It is important that the tape measure is flush with the inside of the collar.
Variant 1 "Measure directly on the dog
These two collar variants are put on and off over the head, because the collars cannot be opened. Therefore we need the widest point over which the collar must be pulled. In most cases this is the head at the level of the ears (green line).
Please measure the head circumference (green) AND the neck circumference (blue) of your dog. On the widest indication (mostly head circumference) we then add 1 cm buffer from our side, so that dressing is comfortable. This is then the measure for the pulled on pull stop collar or the slip neck.
Variant 2 "Measure directly on the collar".
If you have a well-fitting half choke collar or slip in collar, this is the safest measurement option. Since you measure the inner circumference, it does not matter if it is a leather, Biothane or rope collar.
1. put the collar on the table in front of you
2. measure with a tape measure the inner circumference of the collar. It is important that the tape measure is flush with the inside of the collar. Please tell us whether you measured on the dog or directly on the collar. This is because we do not need to add 1 cm buffer when measuring on the collar.
For dogs with a lot of dewlap (e.g. Labrador): Here the dewlap must be "pushed away" a little so that the collar does not slip over the head. In addition to the circumference of your dog's neck, measure the inner circumference of a well-fitting collar.
For dogs with a lot of coat (e.g. Aussie): The coat should be measured close to the dog, but must not be squashed. In addition to the circumference of your dog's neck, measure the inner circumference of a well-fitting collar.
